With over 100 years combined experience, you can rest assured the job will be done right.

When the company was first started the field of work was limited to roofing, sheet metal, and heating. As modern conveniences became more affordable new areas of work were added to our services. We are truly your one stop company offering heating & air, roofing, plumbing, welding, and electrical. From shingle and rubber roofing, to in-floor radiant heating, to full bathroom remodels and concrete replacement, we are proud to say that we do everything except build the building.

1948

John Spindler started our company in Jasper and became a Bryant Dealer.

1961

Tom Schmidt started with Spindler Contracting after serving three years in the US Army.

1978

Added Carlisle Syntec products to the services offered.

1982

Attended Race that featured Chip Ganassi driving the Bryant Car.

1982

Tom Schmidt purchased the company from John Spindler, Jr.

1984

Tom changed the name to Schmidt Contracting, Inc.

1985

Phil Schmidt, Tom’s son, worked for the company part-time beginning in 1978. In 1985, he started full-time after graduating from Western Kentucky University.

1986

Schmidt Contracting. was presented an award for 50 Perfect Installs by Carlisle’s president, Hugh Kennedy.

1986

Schmidt Contracting was featured on the 1986 Bryant Show Car.

1999

Half Century Business Awarded to Schmidt Contracting by the State of Indiana.

2001

Phil Schmidt is honored as Firefighter of the Year for the City of Jasper.

2005

Schmidt Contracting is inducted into Carlisle SynTec Hall of Fame for over 250 Perfect 10 Roofs.

2007

Tom Schmidt is awarded the City of Jasper’s Distinguished Service Award.

2016

Tom Schmidt is asked to be a Torch Bearer for Indiana’s Bicentennial march for his exceptional history of public service.

2019

Austin Schmidt, Phil’s son, worked for the company part-time beginning in 2009. In 2019, he graduated from Indiana University and moved back to work full-time within Schmidt Contracting.

2019

Awarded the Silver Sales Award from Habegger Complete HVAC Solutions.

2021

2022

Schmidt Contracting, longest-serving Bryant dealer in the state, was pleased to earn a trip to the Bryant National Dealer Conference in Las Vegas.
